Work Experience in KS3: Turning Statutory Guidance into Practice

(This workshop is for Schools)

New statutory guidance encourages schools to provide meaningful workplace experiences throughout Key Stage 3. This practical workshop for our Career Leaders and their colleagues will share examples from pilot schools, highlight effective approaches, and provide tools to support implementation.

From September 2026, schools are required to start reforming their work experience programme to meet the new statutory guidance.

You will explore some of the different approaches our schools have taken to achieving key stage 3 work experience places.  You will hear what went well and what could be tweaked to improve the experience and scale up to help schools reform your work experience programme.

Leave with the confidence, ideas and resources to develop your school’s work experience programme.
