Cornerstone Employers - Cumbria Careers Hub

Cornerstone Employers work with our Careers Hub team, and their wider business community, to ensure all young people in Cumbria are properly prepared for the world of work through access to inspirational careers advice and opportunities.

A Cornerstone Employer is an ambassador for careers education and can be a business of any size, from a local independent firm to a multi-national organisation.

A Cornerstone Employer will be committed to working with other Cornerstone Employers and will engage and galvanise their own business networks to support schools and colleges.  They have a strategic role and often represent the needs of a sector, professional body or larger group of employers.  They will raise awareness of the skills needs, entry routes and career opportunities of that sector or group, and support the work of the Careers Hub by encouraging other employers and businesses to get involved.

Some of our Cornerstone Employers are also Enterprise Advisers and have been matched to a school or college to offer additional support and guidance.
