Hub Innovation Project Manager
“I’ve lived in Cumbria for 39 years after moving here upon leaving school. It really is a beautiful place to live and has so much to offer.
I trained as a hairdresser and a retail manager before returning to education in my late 30s to complete an English and Education degree. I had always had a burning ambition to teach, so I then became a primary school teacher, where I stayed for 15 years. I believe that children and young people should be taught using a variety of approaches, ensuring links are made to real-life to help to develop those all important ‘skills for life’.
Outside of work, I love to spend time with my husband, daughters, my gorgeous grandchildren and friends. I also love walking and travelling in my van, which is why Cumbria is the perfect place to live for me!”
