“I have lived and worked in hospitality in the Lake District for 40 years and would like to give back to our wonderful and diverse industry.”
Tell us about your chosen career or career pathway to your current role
“I ran a family hotel business for 40 years operating three establishments in Ambleside. I sold the majority of the business in 2022 but I am still involved on a much smaller scale.”
What careers advice would you give to your 16-year-old self?
“Anything is possible if you have the passion for it. Don’t think too far ahead and really think about what you enjoy or what you think, given the opportunity, you would be good at.”
What do you like/love best about living and working in Cumbria?
“The people who are friendly and sincere, the huge diversity of employment opportunities, the landscape that has inspired so many people and so many wonderful and different things.”
