UK Clean Green Employer panel

27th Apr 2022 | Category: Latest

At Speakers for Schools we are here to help you and your students discover the wide range of careers that are available now, and in the future. How do we help prepare someone for this? The best way we can, by giving them a safe platform to ask questions of industry and employers who will be identifying and creating these jobs.

Last week the Government published it’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy which states the vision for the UK to be world-leaders within the education sector by 2030. This will include preparing all of our young people through the delivery of CEIAG and “accessible information on green career pathways” as well as “access to a broad range of employers and workplaces.” Alongside this there will be a new GCSE Natural History  launching in 2025.

Lee Wray-Davies, our North West Head of Region, has been involved in developing both the DFE strategy as well as the OCR Natural History curriculum. Shaheen Gul, one of our Regional Engagement Managers, and Lee have designed our Clean Green Youth Voice Panels to give young people a platform which supports early investigations into green futures.

If you wish to put forward students for our second youth panel on Thursday 5th May (9.30-11.00am) to be some of the very first young people to forge green career paths, the booking form is here. The closing date is Thursday 28th April.

Employers taking part in the panel will be from Bentley Motors, The Billington Group and Pilkington Glass.
